Everybody loves Neil. It's a fact. We love Neil, we love his wife and we LOVE his books.
Well, there's a new one. How the Marquis Got His Coat Back is a 64 page short set in the Neverwhere world-one of my favourites of all time. It debuted on the 27th of October and you can get from all good retailers.
In other news, the World Science Fiction Society (they're the guys that give out the Hugo Awards) are creating a new award to celebrate the YA category. This is not the same as a Hugo-YA books are eligible to win a Hugo, within the category that applies (Hugos are broken down by page count, not genre), and can concurrently win the new award in the standalone category.
There's just one little problem... this award doesn't have a name! The organisers are asking for input from readers. It's not as simple as just picking a name, they're vetting nominations to ensure they're from people invested in the genre. With that in mind, be prepared to answer a few questions (like, your favourite/most recent YA read and why you love the category). You can suggest a name for the award here.
Finally, NaNoWriMo has begun! I'll be participating this year and attempting to write the first in a quartet of Druid magic Urban Fantasy books. This series will be a little steamier than the last. It's set in Seattle (Go Frasier!) and features a little bar in Tacoma called Little Jerry's, which has a Seinfeld theme.
What would you call the new Hugo award?
